What is a Delivery Note?

A delivery note is a document sent with a shipment of goods that describes the goods and the quantities being delivered.

A delivery note (also known as a packing list, waybill, bill of parcel or unpacking note) is crucial in the shipment of goods. It will list the products that are contained within the package.

Delivery notes generally don't include the prices of the goods being shipped. They often simply include the individual product number next to the good listed. It often also includes the address and banking info of the supplier.

The delivery note will also list any products that were ordered but are not enclosed in the packaging for any specific reason.

There are usually two copies of the delivery note sent with the shipment. The delivery note goes to the customer, containing the necessary information, while a signed copy is returned to the supplier as proof of delivery.
